    ANNOUNCEMENTS  THURS, OCT 19, 2017  

 

1. Juniors & Seniors: The following will visit JCHS. Get a pass from anyone in Guidance to see a college rep and see the military in the cafeteria on your lunch hour:

 

  • Thursday, Oct. 19 - Quincy University  - 1:30 p.m. AND US Army National Guard in JCHS Cafeteria during 4th and 5th hrs (rescheduled from Oct 16th)


2. MC auditions for the Variety Show will be Thursday, October 19 after school  in the auditorium.  See Mrs. Bittles to sign up for a time and receive information on the audition requirements.


3. Seniors - Scholarship Bulletin #1 is now available in the guidance office and on the JCHS/Guidance website: http://jchs.jersey100.org/departments/guidance


4. Any Junior who is interested in attending Southeast Missouri State University and has a GPA of 4.375/5.0 please see Mrs. Ross for a scholarship opportunity.


5. Juniors and Seniors who plan to major in Education:

You must create an account with the Illinois State Board of Education and have any ACT + Writing or SAT + Writing test scores sent directly to ISBE if you plan to get a license to teach in your future!

See your counselor for directions on how to do this and for the codes to send to ISBE.

6. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors:

Colleges from across the United States will be in St. Louis to talk to you!

National College Fair this SUNDAY, Oct. 22 1 pm - 4 pm

7. 8th grade boys basketball will start next Monday, October 23rd at 6:15 am.


8. Student Council is selling Halloween-o-grams for $1 each through October 25th.


9. Musical auditions are coming up on Monday October 30, 3-9; Wednesday November 1, 3-6; and Thursday November 2, 3-6, with a parent & student meeting following auditions at 6:30.  There will be an informational meeting for 8th graders during Panther Time on Thursday October 26th in Mr. Beauchamp's room, C137.  The meeting for 9-12 grades will be Thursday October 26th at 3pm in the Auditorium.  Those wishing to audition for cast or crew MUST attend one of the meetings AND MUST be at all audition times.  Those interested in playing in the pit orchestra will audition with Mrs. Bittles at a later time.  This year's spring musical is, Fiddler on the Roof.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Beauchamp in room C137.



10. You can now add Ship to Home as an option for delivery when you order your yearbook. If you have already ordered your yearbook and you would like to add this service please see Mrs. Morgan in C 132.  Yearbooks on sale now for $65 from October 7 until November 24.   You can order a yearbook online through the JCHS website or place your order with Mrs. Morgan in RM C132. Please do not leave checks in her mailbox.

Seniors- informational packets were given to your English teachers about  senior photo requirements and deadlines, and senior dedications. The information is also available on the JCHS website should you need it.


Senior photos must be digitally submitted by Fri, Feb 16 at 3:30. Your photographer must email the photo to Mrs. Morgan. A sheet was provided to you to give your photographer for the requirements of photo submission. We can only accept photos sent from the photographer. Your photographer should carbon copy your parents when the photo is submitted as receipt of its delivery. Remember, this is an OPTIONAL service that we provide.


11.  REMINDER TO STUDENTS:  You must now enter through the main office to see the nurse.


12.  JOIN US IN CELEBRATING RED RIBBON WEEK Oct 23-26th

MONDAY, October 23:  My future is bright drug free- wear bright colors or tie dye.

TUESDAY, October 24:  Too smart to start:  wear school or college shirt.

WEDNESDAY, October 25:  You won’t see me using drugs:  Wear Camo

THURSDAY,  October 26:  These paws do not touch drugs:  Wear panther shirt

 

13. Cookie Jar winner  - Mrs. Muenstermann's 5th hour class.  Thank you Mrs. Ross for the cookies.

 

14,  ANY STUDENT RIDING THE ACTIVITY BUS MUST SIGN UP IN THE OFFICE BEFORE 1:30 ON THE DAY YOU ARE RIDING!

 

15.  All kids interested in Scholastic Bowl MUST see Mrs. Brunaugh today or tomorrow!! (Panther time she will be in Study Hall)
